How to open Blur Image Online

1. Click the puzzle piece in the top right of Chrome, then the pin next to Blur Image Online.
2. Click the toolbar icon. The editor opens in its own tab, not as a popup.

How to load a photo

• Drag and drop an image onto the editor.
• Paste from the clipboard (Ctrl/⌘+V).
• Open — use the Open button or Choose a file on the empty state. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported.

Nothing is uploaded. Pixels are decoded and edited only in this browser tab.

How to blur and redact

• Tool — Brush paints freehand, Box draws a rectangle, Full image covers everything, Move selects and resizes a layer.
• Effect — Blur, Pixelate, or Black box.
• Strength and Brush size adjust how strong and how wide the stroke is.
• Undo / Redo / Delete / Clear reverse edits or remove layers without closing the image.

How to save or copy

• Pick an export format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP). JPEG and WebP have a quality slider.
• Save downloads the file. Copy puts the image on the clipboard when the browser allows it.

Privacy

Everything runs on your machine. The extension does not upload images and makes no network requests. See the privacy policy for details.
